Toilet Twinning was founded in 2010 by the charity Cord. By donating £60 we can twin each of our toilets and can help fund a project in a community that will enable families to build a basic toilet, have access to clean water, and learn about hygiene – a refreshing combination that saves lives.
Some key facts about the issues relating to access to toilets are as follows
By donating we're helping people from countries such as Afghanistan, Uganda and Zambia
The Y7+ group has helped this initiative by raising money with bake sales throughout the year.
As of December 2022, we have officially twinned all 12 toilets in the community centre! In fact, we have exceeded our target and have raised over £900 meaning we can fund a further 3 toilets!
The money raised for toilet twinning is all thanks to the generosity of the St John's congregation and the local community donating and buying cakes over the past 12 months.
