St. John’s has become a member of the Inclusive Church network, following our congregation’s engagement with the ‘Living in Love and Faith’ initiative. This was a national Church of England's initiative which explored topics of identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage.
While the decision to join Inclusive Church was mainly prompted by our engagement with Living in Love and Faith, it also reflects our values in opposing discrimination explicitly on a wide range of grounds as well as those related to sexuality and gender - including disability, economic power, ethnicity, learning disability, mental health and neurodiversity.
Our membership of Inclusive Church reflects our desire to welcome and serve all people in the name of Jesus Christ. St John’s is a welcoming, diverse and busy church. We would love for you to come along to any of our services or events and join our congregation.
St John’s warmly offers the full range of services to LGBTQ+ couples to the full extent permitted within the current Church of England rules as approved by the House of Bishops.
What is an Inclusive Church
Inclusive Church is a network of churches, groups and individuals uniting together around a shared vision.
We believe in an Inclusive Church – a church that celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate.
